Learn moreWhy Berowra Waters?
Experience a unique blend of tranquil, water-based seclusion and stunning natural wilderness—all less than an hour from the Sydney CBD. The area’s main draw is its water-access-only lifestyle, which immediately disconnects you from the city’s hustle.
Only accessible by water – truly unique
This unique characteristic means that homes and renowned establishments, like the Berowra Waters Inn, are perched on the riverbank without connecting roads, lending the area an exceptional sense of tranquillity and an ‘off-grid’ feel despite its proximity to the city. You will reach these secluded spots via private boat, creating an atmosphere where the gentle lapping of the water and the sounds of the surrounding bushland dominate.
Surrounded by national parks
Berowra Waters is completely enveloped by vast stretches of protected wilderness, forming a stunning backdrop of rugged sandstone gorges and lush eucalypt forest that keeps the area feeling wonderfully remote. Not just Berowra Valley National Park, the broader region connects to the historic Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park to the east, and Marramarra National Park and Muogamarra Nature Reserve to the north and west, collectively creating a massive, interconnected conservation area that is a haven for hikers, with a significant section of the Great North Walk passing directly through the valley to the water’s edge at Berowra Waters.
Perfect for romantic getaways & family escapes
Berowra Waters offers a perfect blend of romantic seclusion and family-friendly adventure, making it an ideal destination for various getaways. For couples, the water-access-only accommodation, including boutique boathouses and the renowned Berowra Waters Inn, provides a private, tranquil escape where they can enjoy absolute waterfront views, starlit dining, and peaceful boating along the creek.
Meanwhile, the locale is a fantastic choice for families, offering endless opportunities for engaging outdoor activities: children can safely explore the waterways by kayak or motorised tinny (often included with rentals), go fishing directly from a private jetty, and spend their days swimming or bushwalking in the adjacent Berowra Valley National Park, ensuring both relaxation for adults and memorable adventures for all ages.
Berowra Guide
You can hire a boat, kayak, or dine along the pristine Berowra waters, exploring hidden bays and feeling the peace of “river time.” It’s perfect for both a romantic escape to a waterfront retreat (like the acclaimed Berowra Waters Inn) or an adventurous family getaway with swimming, fishing, and bushwalking.

We had a wonderful stay and really appreciate being able to have a later check out time. The accommodation had everything we needed for our group and we enjoyed being able to use all the kayaks and boards without having to take turns - there was enough for all of us which was fantastic. Thank you again for making the booking process so seamless, everything was enjoyable and we hope to be back soon.

What an amazing house and area! We have never been to Berowa Waters before and we were blown away by its beauty plus also the amazing simplicity of life on the river. The house was perfect for a family of 5, with lots of room and big decks and outdoor areas. The kids loved swimming, fishing and kayaking off the pontoon. Having a boat to use for trips into the marina for a coffee or cocktail was also a highlight. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back. Sue was great with lots of tips and recommendations of what to do and where to go.

Partner and I decided last minute to book a few much needed nights away for ourselves. We requested the booking at about 10am to check in same day - Sue got back to us quickly & made the process smooth & simple. We absolutely loved everything about our stay, didn’t want to come home! Can’t wait to return

The Cottage is a quaint, clean comfortable waterside pad in which to enjoy the truly tranquil surrounds of Berowra Waters. Sue was a terrific, warm and friendly host. We were grateful for the pick up service, kayaks, tinnie and tips. Well stocked kitchen and lots of games. Highly recommended.
Tim (Berowra Waters Studio)
Perfect stay on the river: We had an amazing time at the studio. The place has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The deck is amazing to relax and read a book or to just soak in the beautiful nature all around. From pickup to drop off our host was super friendly and very helpful. She sorted out a bbq package for us for our second evening as there aren’t any restaurants open on Sunday evening on the river. In our top 3 best stays ever and we absolutely plan to come again.
Michelle (Berowra Waters Studio)
This was an absolutely glorious stay - from the great welcome by Rhian to the assistance with all things related to the tinny, the studio was perfect. Even though other guests stayed at the property connected to our studio, we had privacy. The setting was spectacular. We'd come back.
Aislinn (Berowra Waters Studio)

We have a couple of properties you can walk in and out of even though they are considered water access only. There is a secure gate with a code to access these properties.
